For cake or base:
- 3 eggs
- 2 egg yolks
- 1tablespoon vanilla extract or essence
- ½ cup milk (whole milk)
- ½ cup sour cream
- 284g all-purpose flour ( 2 cups)
- 50g toasted and finely ground walnuts
- 297g granulated sugar or 1 and ½ cup
- ¾ tablespoon baking soda
- ¾ tablespoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt (¾ tablespoons)
- 2 sticks of unsalted butter, which should be 227g or ½ pound. It should be at room temperature and cutter into a 1-inch piece
- 300g walnuts
- 150g granulated sugar
- ¼ tablespoons salt
- 340g light sweet chopped chocolate
- 4 sticks of unsalted butter at room temperature, which will be 2 cups or 452g
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoon corn syrup
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 340g confectioners sugar(3 cups)

For baking the Chocolate Sheet Cake, first, preheat the oven at 350F for 10 minutes. Take the baking dish of 8by 2 inches and grease it and put the butter paper in it.
Now, take a ball and take eggs, egg yolk, vanilla extract, sour cream, and milk. Let’s whisk it or use a beater to mix them well.
Now take a second ball and with the help of a beater or whisk mix flour, ground walnuts, baking powder, baking soda sugar, and salt. Give all of them a good mix until all of them combine together. Now it’s time to add one piece or stick of butter at a time and mix them until it crumbles. When it mixes well then add half of the wet ingredients and mix all of them.
Now add the rest of the wet material. When it completely mixes and comes into the cake batter consistency. Pour the batter into the cake tin and tap it for 2,3 times. Bake the cake for 22-23, minutes. You can check it by using a toothpick that is baked or not. Now take it off from the oven demold after being completely cooled down. When it cools, wrap it in plastic and leave it in the refrigerator overnight.
Melt the chocolate by using the double boiling method, and leave it to cool down. On the second side melt the 1 inch of butter and give it a gentle boil. Now beat the rest butter and until it becomes fluffy. Now add vanilla extract, corn syrup, and salt, give them a good mix. Now add confectioners sugar and mix it. After that, add the melted chocolate, and beat all of them together until it becomes light, creamy and fluffy.
Take a pan and add sugar, salt, and walnuts to caramelize the walnut. After being lightly caramelized, put it on the silicon mat or butter paper to cool down.
